3 Things to Think About as a Woman When We Feel Like there is “No Time”

Woman (humans) are constantly dreaming, creating and envisioning their best life ever. We want it now, as fast as possible. We don’t want time to run out and yet we constantly feel like there is NO TIME.

The average woman wants to use her time wisely, but she struggles with it. Are you in the stage where it feels like you can’t catch up?

Can there possibly be enough time in the day?

Why do we feel like there is no time?

There is a simple answer, and you know the answer to that.
We have clocks, schedules and expectations that keep us organized but also stressed most times. When we miss something__ wait for it, chaos!
It’s hard not to feel overwhelmed and disappointed as the day goes by and you say, “nothing productive happened”!

The Seasons Change

Let me explain, life is divided into chunks called seasons and in those specific blocks of time, we have specific activities that fill that time (or at least they are supposed to).
When you were a child, you could play and run around, and it was a very productive time.
It filled all your days. It’s amazing, my 5-month-old can take several naps a day and he better enjoy it while it is still TIME for that season of his life!

So, why do we have No Time?

Perhaps this isn’t specific to everyone, but here’s an idea. Personally, I really enjoy art and writing, but I’m living in a time where I just can’t sit and paint for 2 hours anymore.
Wait?
This means you used to do that! Yeah, of course.
When I was single and younger woman, I had the time and season for lots of “me” uninterrupted activities. Currently, that is not the case!
In this season, my time is filled with cleaning, cooking and breastfeeding all day long.
Is it my fault that there is no time?
Here me out!
Maybe, the problem of “no time” is really the problem of me trying to live with activities that no longer fit my current season of life.
That doesn’t mean I can’t have painting time, but it means I won’t stress if there is no time for it today.

1. Finite Versus Eternal Time

If you want to truly go deeper into “time” and not just the blocks of time we have in a day, but the TIME you have to live on Earth and beyond, then it’s necessary to look at the infinite.
Woman of God, you need perspective, in order to live a truly free life.
You see, the time God gives is so much more than what we see on the clock each day.
 John 14:6
God is eternal and we are not… well, at least not right now.
It’s impossible to grasp the truth of living eternally because you and I are still living in this corruptible body, right?
1 Corinthians 15:53-55
So, if you are going to complain about not having time, then you might need to go to the Giver (The Lord) of time?
God is not absent or confused about the season you are living.
He can help you figure out why life seems like wasted time. He has given you this precious time, and He is here beside you to be your aid.
You must trust Him with your time, now and the eternally.
If Jesus is your savior, your friend and redeemer than there is no other way (He is the Way).

2. There are Many Sides to Time

Now, I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I understand all the theological implications of time as God knows it. But we can be guided by what his word says.

What does Ecclesiastes Say?

I have read two specific Bible passages about time. The first passage is in Ecclesiastes (3:1-8), are you surprised?
Nope___ it’s hard not to talk about time without reading this text, after all Salomon was a wise man.

Time is Limited but Purposeful

I wouldn’t argue that God gives us all the same length of time (to live) because some people die in birth and others in old age.
So, it’s safe to say that this passage is not saying that everyone will have the same time. The length varies and the activities also vary, each person has different experiences.
You can see examples like going through a war or even having time to dance.
Some people will never experience those two things.
So, then what is it saying?
As I understand, these verses are saying that we have time (whatever the length may be), but it has been designed with a purpose in each season, and it’s okay to experience highs and lows in the different seasons we live.

But What is the Purpose?

You know, to glorify Christ. To live a God honoring life, to enjoy what God has given us. To work and rest in his work! Read this passage that I think summarizes it.  Ecclesiastes 3:9-14 and Matthew 22:37

Rest in his Omniscience

In the end, we can rest in God and know that there is purpose in this life (time) He gave us.
Trusting God with the variety in our everyday life is definitely a hard road, but rest in knowing that the Holy Spirit is inside you, every single day of the process.
As long as you have trusted Christ as your Savior, then you know that He is always with you.
Cry out, laugh and sing hymns because He knows all things.
Cry as you pray and wait for His aid.
He has given you TIME sister, trust in Him today!

What does Psalm 90 Say?

The second passage is psalm 90. There are specific verses that got my attention. They speak about the length of time we have to live here on Earth.
God does say that we will live about 70-80 years on average.
And God tells us that in this time there will be joy and pain, all at the same time.
Psalm 90:10
Time may seem short or long depending on your situation.
In pain we often wish time was shorter, but in times of joy we wish life was still 800 years in length,  like in the early days of creation.
God, help my sister today, to meditate on this truth that You Lord, declared with your mouth.
May she remember that time comes with pain and joy, but with purpose.
You are making her more like your son and molding her chraracter.

3. “No Time” Can Often be Linked to Sin

 James 4:17
As women, there are times when we feel like we are the commanders of our time.
Pride is no stranger to the modern woman. Do you agree sister?
It’s easy to know a sin we can see, but one that’s deep in our heart. Only God knows that sin.

What are you occupying your time with?

If something is getting in the way of a good thing.
If we are disobeying God because our time is occupied doing this or that, then we are failing to do the good that we know we are to do.
Example: we are to work the land and be fruitful, but I decided to play video games all day… for days and weeks and months.
This activity is stealing my precious, God given time and it’s leaving me “no time” to do what I’m called to do.
Is it a sin to play video games?
It depends on what type and for what purpose you play, but the point is not about video games (ha-ha).
The real point is that certain activities that aren’t necessarily sin, can become sin, if they are stopping us from doing the right thing.

So, now what?
Sister, I pray that you reflect on the time the Lord has given you.
Please share in the comments any suggestions for us all to manage our precious time a little better.
Leave us a prayer if you will!
Let’s think about eternity when we live time here on Earth! Oh, help us, Lord.
My prayer is that all the women of God may put their time in His hands and trust His perfectly designed path for them.
In Christ,
Rosa Rosa

Think About These Things

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
