Fall is such a cozy season and spending time doing some family art should be easy and fun.

So, here are five drawings to try today!

Tips to get the whole family involved for a Fall Painting Session

  1. Gather up supplies as a family, make it a fun opportunity to run around the house and find materials.

Here is a list of supplies that can work:

Somewhere to draw/paint!

  • Drawing paper
  • Watercolor paper
  • Old books
  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard
  • Cereal boxes
  • Canvas

Whatever you have will work. Don’t be picky and let them choose the surface they want to create art on.

2. Use the drawing and painting supplies that best work for you. If you want a simple, no mess drawing session, consider using pencils, pens, crayons and color pencils.

Some other ideas to get drawing and painting!

  • watercolor
  • acrylic (if your are feeling adventures), remember it won’t wash off clothes, so be prepared with aprons.
  • pastels
  • markers
  • tempera

3. Get the clean up supplies from the start.

  • rags
  • watercups
  • papertowels
  • trashcan

4. Have fun and choose the best option for the family.

  • Olders kids: They can each pull up the video here and they can individually watch the section of the drawing they choose on their phone or tablets.
  • Younger kids: The other easy option for less hands on supervision is for everyone to draw the same thing and display it on the TV, pause as you need to.

Tips to make it a Bible Centered Activity too

1. Get your space ready; be intentional to build a little Fall cozyness.

  • Light a candle
  • Practice writing or calligraphy

2. Make it an intentional Bible Study/ Lesson and Fun Art Activity

  • Bibles in hand, add a verse to the drawings
  • Worship in the background
  • Have someone pray before and after the painting session
  • Talk about why thankfulness is a godly thing to practice

This can be a good time to pull out the Bible or look up some Bible verses, you can use this FREE PDF FALL VERSE LIST and print it to help you find the best verse. They can choose a verse and write it on their drawing at the end. Just options for you to make it an educational and thankful activity that points the children to God’s word and thruth.

#1. Drawing the Wind and Autumn Leaves

The first drawing in the agenda is the easiest to get the ball going. Relax and enjoy the moment drawing the leaves blowing in the wind.

This drawing is just three curved lines and leaves of diffferent shapes and directions.

To follow along and draw with me just press the first drawing in the time stamps directly on the video linked.

If you have some experienced artists they can simply look at the pisture and get going. Be creative and make it your own, this is a guide, but no need to restrict creativity.

#2. Drawing a Fall Basket with Yummy Apples

Autumn is all about the delicious fruit and what better way to show the Fall season appreciation, than with a basket.

This one might be a litte more difficult, but feel free to draw pears, peaches or any other fruit that you want to draw.

Apples are the easiest in my opinion because you start by drawing a heart shape and a circle.

#3. Draw a Fall Pumpkin

The classic drawing everyone is crazy about in Fall is a pumkin, so I had to include one.

What do you love about pumpkins?

I just like the shape, big leaves and tendrils ( just cute little curly vines). Make it extra colorful and add a mouse or two if you’re feeling creative. Hey, it can even be carved!

Let’s go to drawing number four for this Fall family painting session ideas.

#4. Draw a Beautiful Fall Leaf Wreath

This has to be my favorite drawing on this list. It’s just a lot of fun to make.

If you want a little challenge this might be one of the drawings to try.

If you are feeling extra creative at some cursive or calligraphy! Don’t forget to add Bible verses too.

You can turn the drawings into Thanksgiving card or wall art to display this Autumn season.

#5. Draw Books and a Hot Drink

This is the second most challenging drawing on this easy drawing list. If you struggle with making cubes and straight lines than maybe pick a different drawing.

It’s still a very easy drawing to try out, but maybe take it slow and don’t feel discouraged if you must do drawing number one.

For an easy Fall drawing list, this has to be the hardest drawing. This might not be appropiate for smaller children.

Hey, but maybe momma or papa would like to take a go at it.

Think About These Things

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

-Philippians 4:8

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
