Impulse shopping happens to everyone and thrifty people also get tempted, but here are 16 things they really think before adding it to the cart.

STOP right there! Are you sure you need that?

Ha-ha that might be one of the the thoughts we thrifty people have all the time!

Things to Say to Yourself to NOT Overspend and Stay on Budget!

This list is for entertainment! See if you’re really a thrifty person and tell me in the comments.

And if you really need the products I liked on my “no buy” shopping trip, find similar items here!

Okay, let’s get into the list!

We Don’t NEED it Yet!

This post contains affiliate links, which means I make a small commission at no extra cost to you. See my full disclosure here.

A cute toy to use at the beach, of Course my baby needs it!

How else will he make castles in the sand?

The colors are perfect and it’s silicone. Isn’t silicone the new plastic? It’s cheap and durable!

“Hey, hubby look at this… the baby likes it.”

That sound like you, right?

Unless you Really Need it!

Okay, yeah, I don’t need it now. We can come back in the summer, right before we start packing our beach bags!

Thrifty people stop before they buy! They never shop just because one day it will be useful (unless it’s thrifted and $2 bucks), otherwise it has to be a NEED!

That Can Wait, My Dog’s Old Bowl Works Fine!

The temptation to buy your pet a toy or new bowl is real!

They don’t really need one but making your house look nice even in the pet area… well, it feels like a need.

Do you own one of these high-end, pricey, expensive bowls?

They will last forever though. The key here is to run and just say__that can wait!

I can replace the old one once it breaks. But if you truly need one my friend, click here

It’s Just Cute, Where Would I put it?

I love vintage everything and if it’s gold, even better.

This was a frame, bur if it would have been a mirror, maybe I would have purchased it.

Sorry, see, I get distracted. Okay…my friend you don’t really need it!

Really, who prints picture anyways? This is 2024 and people have those expensive digital frames.

Okay, let’s move on.

Being Thrifty takes practice, we can all struggle with impulse shopping. The key is to not give up!

I’ll Live Without it, Oh Fluffy Bedding Stuff!

You know I wanted that!

The key here is reason. You HAVE ONE ALREADY.

If that doesn’t work, the thrifty person in you might be gone.

It’s sad, but true. If you have more than two of these for each season, you have gone to the dark side.

I could be wrong!

NEXT…

Already Own One of Those, that’s Enough!

Okay, if you are tempted with fourth of July stuff…

Yeah, you might not be a thrifty person OR you might just be a true patriot.

Hey, I love America! I did moved here 20ish years ago.

Please tell me if you have more than four throw pillows, (I do… shhhhh).

It’s Too Early for That, Plus I’m a Christian!

I was so shocked to see this in May.

Please don’t be offended, I really don’t celebrate this American Holiday.

The only scary things I own are my bills.

I won’t have a link for this decor trust me!

It’s all on you my friend, but decor like this kills the budget of any truly thrifty person.

Plus, it’s not really God honoring and if you have trusted your soul to Christ, well why are we still talking about this.

One Day I will Travel to Spain and Get it Myself…

My spanish speaking side, really wanted this beautiful vase.

Hola, amigos… si soy Mexicana.

Adios! Okay, glass is just cute. I wish America had more handmade stuff and maybe this truly thrifty person would buy more.

I love supporting artists. A thrifty person would buy it from the maker. Do you agree?

I Can Make Those, Let’s Make it at Home

This is the greatest thought on the planet for thrifty people.

If you can make it yourself why buy it!

Hey, but if you really need a sketchbook or you want to learn how to fix a Book/Bible check out my videos.

Okay, next!

My Tea Collection Won’t Perish!

Okay, I’ll be honest I love tea and I did almost buy this because I own a clear glass already and two would be great.

My husband thinks they are silly! I guess that was a good reason to not buy it.

Truly, I will continue to drink tea without it.

Am I sad? Hhhmm___ a little!

Are you a tea drinker? I prefer non-caffeine teas!

Real Plants Only, Artificial Sounds Cheap to me

A thrifty person might have fake plants, but I would argue against it.

Unless they kill plants, then saving money on a plastic house plant might be reasonable.

I might not be the best person for this one, because I just don’t like them.

When I realize they’re fake…. it’s AHHH, weird!

How sad, I wanted to feel the leaf and it’s faux or foam. A sad day for a plant lover!

I Actually Need This, but I’ll Order it Online Later

Okay, if you’re a real thrifty person… you will not buy it, even if you kind of need it.

What!!?? Okay, unless you planned it.

Thrifty people please help me. Thrifty people always try to plan their purchases.

I had to win the no buy, shopping day.

My Husband Will be Glad I Bought This, Maybe I’ll Ask Him First

Buying pots and pans is a love language for the cook at home and the one who eats the food!

I need another pot. I really do, but I only buy expensive pots that have life time warranty.

Seriously, I can’t buy a random pot just because it looks pretty. This is not sponsored but all-clad stainless steel or cast iron is what I want, and what I need!

Cooking with other materials has proven to be more of a nightmare for me.

Thrifty souls am I wrong here?

That Has to Be Expired or Else Why Would it be Here?

Say all these things in your head to not buy stuff.

Do you think like a thrifty person? If you made it this far you must leave a comment.

If you find yourself a the store randomly, then food will be a temptation.

And if it’s organic, well please check the dates on it.

I’ve Been Looking for a Funnel, Hhmm Fun Design!

This design saves space, but can I trust it?

These are the random thoughts of a frugal and thrifty person.

I hope you have made it to the team.

We must be strong, even when we think we need it.

Trends are for Rich People, I’ll be Fine!

To be honest trends aren’t to tempting to me, but if it’s in my lifestyle… yeah, that might be different.

These tumblers are cute but I don’t drive enough to need it for my cup holder.

If you shop monthly or don’t work out this might not be a need.

Think About These Things

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

-Philippians 4:8

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
